American Income Life is a legal-reserve life insurance company founded in 1951 in Waco, Texas. For seventy-plus years, AIL has specialized in one thing: providing supplemental benefits — whole life, accident, hospital indemnity — to working-class families through partnerships with labor unions, credit unions, and professional associations.

That's the difference. AIL doesn't compete for cold leads on Facebook. The company partners directly with over 30,000 unions and associations whose members have already requested benefit information as part of their group's member services. When you sit down on a Zoom call with a family, they've already raised their hand. Your job is to understand what they need and recommend the right coverage.

AIL is licensed in all 50 states, Washington D.C., Canada, and New Zealand, and has an A (Excellent) financial strength rating from A.M. Best. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Globe Life Inc. (NYSE: GL).

This isn't a startup. It's a publicly traded, billion-dollar organization with 70+ years of stability.

A day in the life.

Most of our day is built around when families are actually home. Virtual appointments run in the evenings, typically 3–9pm, when members have time to sit down with us, review their benefits, and go through enrollment together. Every appointment is with someone who specifically asked to hear from us.

Mornings and early afternoons are flexible — used for follow-ups, policy delivery calls, and prep. Team training and development calls happen Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with additional sessions sprinkled in as schedules allow. No cold calls. No knocking doors. No buying your own leads.

Who thrives here.

We’ve seen top reps come from every background imaginable. The common thread: coachable, competitive, and comfortable talking to people. Prior insurance experience isn’t required — we’ll walk you through licensing.

Open roles.

Apply in under two minutes. No resume required.

Questions, answered.

Is this role really fully remote?

Yes — 100% remote from anywhere in the U.S. (with a few state exceptions listed in each posting). You’ll need a reliable internet connection, a quiet workspace, and a laptop. All appointments are conducted virtually.

Is Globe Life the same as American Income Life?

American Income Life is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Globe Life Inc. (NYSE: GL). Globe Life is the publicly traded parent company — the same company with naming rights to Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, home of the Texas Rangers. AIL is the subsidiary that specializes in serving union members and working families.

Is this commission-only?

Compensation is performance-based with weekly pay cycles. We go through the full comp structure in detail on your initial call — we want you to have the complete picture before you decide to move forward.

Do I need a license?

Yes, you’ll need a state life insurance license to legally sell these benefits. If you don’t already have one, we’ll walk you through how to get it. Most new reps complete the pre-licensing course in 3–5 days and pass the state exam within two weeks.

Where do the leads come from?

We work with over 30,000 labor unions, associations, and credit unions nationwide. Their members request information about their available benefits — and we connect them with a licensed representative (you). There’s no cold calling and you never pay for your own leads.

How long until I can start earning?

Most reps complete licensing and initial training within 2–4 weeks. Once licensed, you’re taking warm appointments the same week.

What kind of background makes someone successful here?

We’ve seen reps come from sales, customer service, hospitality, teaching, athletics, and the military. The common traits: coachable, self-motivated, able to have real conversations. Prior insurance experience is not required.

What happens after I apply?

Within 24 hours, you’ll receive an email with a short company overview video and a link to schedule your initial call. That call is about 20 minutes and covers the role in detail, answers your questions, and helps us both decide if it’s a fit.

Is there any cost to me?

The pre-licensing course and state exam have modest state-regulated fees (typically $100–$300 total depending on your state). Beyond that, there’s no cost to you — no lead purchases, no training fees, no franchise fees.

What’s the career path?

Agent → Supervising Agent → General Agent → Master General Agent. Each step has clear production and tenure criteria, and we promote from within.
